SINCE its start in 1959, Illinois' Niles West High School Orchestra program has grown from ten members to one of the largest in Chicagoland, and has earned a reputation for creative excellence. Consisting of Concert, Philharmonic, and Symphony Orchestras we have performed and toured the United States—from Chicago to Washington D.C., New York, New Orleans, Denver, Orlando, Honolulu—and abroad in Costa Rica, Austria, Germany, Italy, France, Switzerland, Belgium, and the Netherlands. Our students have performed by invitation at ILMEA conferences and at the esteemed Midwest Clinic.
Ms. Natalie Frakes is the current Director of Orchestras. The Niles West Orchestras have had a rich history and privilege of performing under the batons of numerous talented and dedicated Directors.
